About Us

Julie Ghostlaw is an African Studies and Political Science double major at Mount Holyoke College. She is currently interning at an Accra-based human rights NGO, the Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative (CHRI). She provides legal counsel to victims of human rights abuses, publishes advocacy materials for workshops and seminars, and produces articles for the press.  She is working on the Right to Information Project currently through CHRI. She also volunteers at Planned Parenthood Association of Ghana and formerly the Five College Reproductive Health Advocates at her home university.  She has received the Global Studies Summer Fellowship from Mount Holyoke College to pursue research in Butre, Ghana.


Brendan Rosen is a Political Science major and History minor at UC Irvine. He was raised in the Greater Los Angeles area. He currently volunteers at Action for Development, African Commission of Health and Human Rights Promoters, and is leading a project in Fra Fra Ha situated in Greater Accra to build a community pit latrine (toilet facility). He volunteered at  Los Patojos, an alternative school in Guatemala. 


Brendan and Julie are both currently studying Political Science at the University of Ghana, Legon.
